Snaketails (Ophiogomphus) can be distinguished from other Genera of Clubtails by their bright green thorax with brown stripes. We have 7 species of Ophiogomphus in Minnesota and Wisconsin including a couple of species that are not found in many other places in North America. Snaketails can typically be found around clean, swift moving rivers and streams.
