Only members of the Cordulegastridae, Spiketail, family have eyes that touch or come close to touching at a single point.
There are only two species of Spiketails that have been found in Minnesota. A third species can be found in eastern Wisconsin.
To identify the spiketail species look at the yellow spots on the top of their abdomen
Are the top spots arrow shaped and run down the middle of the abdomen ?
Are there pairs of small closely spaced spots running down the middle of the abdomen ?
