Minnesota Dragonfly

Dragonfly Identification

Clubtails (Gomphidae):

There are 3 species of Clubtails who have a similar unique marking on the front of their thorax behind the eyes. Each of the three is from a different Genus. The easiest way to distinguish between the males of the three species is to examine their clubs. Females can be identified by their thoracic markings or their subgenital plates.
